AAIT was
founded in 2002 by a group of concerned
visionaries. A few dedicated people
spearhead it ; a majority of whom are
amputees. AAIT is a non-profit amputee
education organisation representing
people who have experienced amputation or
are born with limb differences. The
association operates on the strongly held
principle that education enables
individuals who have lost a limb, to
participate in decisions about their own
care and rehabilitation.
To achieve their highest potential,
people with limb loss must play the
central role in decisions affecting their
lives. Only then can they fully embrace
life and its limitless opportunities for
self-fulfillment. The Amputee Association
of India Trust exists to provide this
education and hope for all amputees. It
includes amputee education and support
groups for amputees, family members and
friends of amputees.
