ACTIVITIES

The association is involved in a variety of activities for the upliftment of amputees across the state.

AAIT is also involved in an ambitious activity called 'Amputee to Amputee Program'. The idea behind this is to introduce a fully rehabilitated and healthy member of the organisation who leads a normal life to an amputee still in trauma. This builds for the morale not only for the amputee but also for his/her family members. This method has been tremendously successful and would not have taken flight without the support of young men actively involved in the activities of the organisation. Most of them are amputees, but in no way less than anyone else.

AAIT
  • Access to educational resources and materials through limb loss library and electronic database for amputees, families and the healthcare professionals who provide rehabilitative care.

  • A national referral system of trained peers who connect the new amputee to local amputee educational and support organisations.

  • Informational sources, technical help, training and encouragement for new amputees.

  • An annual conference of educational seminars as well as sports, recreational programs and exhibits of the most innovative technologies and services available in today's market.

  • Advocacy for the rights and responsibilities of people with limb loss.
